Hey guys...

Anyways.... This is kinda like my last post(MAYBE) before I'm off to KL... And Yes... I'm Going KL again this year...

Just finished watching CHUCK season 1... It was so AWESOME.... Can't wait to start on season 2...

I'm still left undecided on my next step... The education fair last Sunday was not bad... I managed to see a few options on my further studies...I'm still left undecided...

either to do:

b. Matriculation

c. A-levels

Btw, Form 6 will always be my last option...(No offence to the Form 6 who is viewing my blog)

Hey guys!!!

1st Term exam is finally done... I just sat for my last paper at 10.15 this morning... I feel so relieved ready and still waiting for SPM to be over...

I'm currently waiting for my 'excellent' results... Or should I say I shall 'GAGAL DENGAN CEMERLANG' which is actually quoted from Arina. Thanks to Vic and Lyn, I managed to pull through today...

Teachers' Day is coming up... I seriously x10000 do not know what food to bring... I seriously need an idea... Someone help me but the food must be HALAL la... Planning to bring Satay so that the main course and the only course of the day is SATAY!!!! Hahahahaha

Anyways, I still owe my teacher a consumer right essay... Sob sob...

Yo! I'm Back!!!

Anyways, i had a fun day yesterday with Dayang, Ethel, Kimberly, Mag, Syaz and Vero!!!

We went out to collect advertisment for our sch mag... We got rejected a few times but I'm glad that we manage to finish the advertisment papers given to us..

We break off into two groups which is dayang's and mag's.. I was in Dayang's group together with Ethel and Syaz... We walked from Capenter streets all the way to Sarawak Plaza...

We had a great time window shopping after finishing but unfortunately, ethel had to leaved coz of piano lessons... Syaz, Dayang and I tried dresses... We became to fashion critics... Guess what??? I Finished my collection!!! We read some books and saw a few books that we want... Ahahahaha...

Dayang ordered lemon chicken rice which the rice looked like heart( I guess the dude is trying to hit on her)... Anyways,Dayang and I felt unsecure when eating our lunch ( Ethel and Syaz ordered food) in Tun Jugah as some people can give us some privacy.. Hate those people but love myself... Hahaha

As Dayang, Syaz and I were tireed after the whole day walking, we sat down in KFC without ordering anything... People were staring at us as we were laughing at the chiki-chiki song...

It’s a long time since I’ve updated my blog coz of school and school… Hehehe…

Anyways, English class today was fun as we were asked by our teacher to write something about tree (the title of the post) as creative writing…

The best part about today is when we were asked to write at a non-human point of view. I wrote about a bird whose home had been destroyed… Anyways, this is not what I want to say… I passed up and I talked to Lyndia…

Lyn: I actually wanted to write about black pepper.

This is when I started to talked about shredded black pepper.

A ~~mutated~~ black pepper was plucked out from its tree. It was shredded into black pepper powder. Later, it was send to the hypermart and was bought by a lady. She ate the black pepper and the black pepper came to life. It started attacking the lady and in the end, she died.

The ending of the black pepper is for you to guess. Muahahaha…

2 Days ago... Is it 2 days ago??? Erm... Er... Nevermind... Anyways it's past ready... That's what i remember... Doulos is back after 7 years...

I join Doulos Mural painting contest but didnt get anything [except t-shirt, bottles, 'sickness band'[LOL], Pen, Paint brush, sim card and an alpha paperbag...hahaha]

I painted my Shirt with Kaya... Yup kaya... That icky colour... Kaya... But nevermind, I will be 'kaya' soon... Ahahahaha...

Cerise got super blue... I think she's sad on that particular day till she decided to pour the blue paint on herself...

The Korean lady was so nice to us that she brought us some water to wash our place... THANK YOU!!!

I'm finally back from RYLA... Ryla was just fine...

The top 3 posts in my school's interact club B.O.D went for the event namely:
Esther(secretary), Nicole (president) and I (v.President)... We finally have thick certs from the rotary club... [certified that we are leader]

I make new friends...[both Brunei and Sarawak] I don't want to talk much bout this as it is so not me...

Food was nice... We had awesome food...

The headhunters[leo, patrick, richie] were very nice...I still remember when they did the performance on the last nite and shawn was commenting the performance, Richie suddenly took the mic and say he love it too... [out of a sudden]

The water for bathing was AWESOME!!! [very very cold] I wonder why some girls took a very long time to bath....[sweat]

My team consists of 7 people...[May, Nicholas, Brice, B, Bao Lin, Natasha and I]... Team name is Proton[Malaysian car brand]... I was really proud of it coz we won the human chain [thanks to Brice dragging Bao Lin and I]... Nicholas is obsessed with his 'sexy hair'...

Never had a good sleep coz:
1st nite - super cold
2nd nite - guys from Lodge were serenading the girls [ you know who you are]... I quote something that is hot,sexy purple sweater... Hahaha
3rd nite - People kept laughing coz the guys threw things into the room...

Last night, I had my family dinner at a restaurant at BDC. No idea what the name is. If you want to know the name, you go find out yourself. All I have to say was we arrived early by 30 mins. 'Kia Su'. Hehehe...

Let's get on with the dinner. What I saw on our table was 2 bottle of Pepsi (warm) and 'Yee Shang'. I was a little dissapointed 'coz the Pepsi was warm. Haiz... My first dish for the night was 'Yee Shang'. The 'Yee Shang' was too sweet and I ate most of the salmon. Hehehehe. Only 10 pieces of salmon in there. So 1st come, 1st serve.

Then, I had some food that taste a bit like 'Bak Chang'. The food is just fine for me. I was aiming for the Chinese Sausages in the rice. I had 2 tough competitor which were my siblings. In the end, I still had the most in my stomach. Hehehe...

After that, I had fish lips with crab meat soup. After knowing that it was fish lips, my sis was thinking of not eating it but after being advised by my mum, she ate it. One thing I dislike about this was that the crab shell is in the soup. Nearly hurt my jaw. Our Pepsi was finishing so my uncle asked for another bottle of Pepsi and Chinese tea.

Once our soup was finished, the waiter gave us our next dish. It was Pork Leg with Char Sio sauce. I looked at it for the first time and I didn't eat it at all. Look at it!!! It's FATTENING. All the FATS. Yucks!!!

The waiter came in a sudden and gave us some bread. It's for filling it with the pork leg but I ate it plain. Hahaha... Once again, we asked for the drinks.

The next dish was grean beans, seaweed and mushroom. Yummy!!! Addicted to veg this few days. I called this this the sea of mushroom 'coz it was filled with mushroom. With the seaweed and the grean beans, makes it look even like the sea. Hahaha...

Our drinks were nearly finish and we asked for drinks again. The next dish was Steamed Talapia.

Saturday was the such a day for me. I had Orchestra in the morning and I get to play my Ryan. Hahaha... So duh... I got a new junior by the name of Ling Wei. Taught her a few tricks that Mr. Reduan taught me. Manage to bully her most of the time.

After Orchestra (which I had to leave earlier), I had a pot luck at St. Jo for SJAS. Everything was in a rush 'coz Nicky forgotten to bring the plates and cups. He had to rush all the way back to 4th mile, just to grab the plates and the cups. Luckily, Joey can drive so Nicky didn't need to rushed back. Joey went to buy them at Carpenter Street. Everything went well though.

The next day(Sunday), I had church service in the morning. It was weird during church 'coz John was sitting next to me.Don't know what's going wrong with him. For the first time in the year, I was not ask to do the multimedia slide. Thank God.

After church, I had the whole day to myself till Nicole can't opened the file. *sweat* So I had to resend her the files a few times. The reason she can't opened the file was 'coz my Microsoft Word was the newer version and hers was the older version.

After that, I went out with Joey to the Spring. I managed to do MPH membership. Wahaahahaha... On my opinion, the MPH here is does not have enough books compare to the ones in KL. I was hoping to find a book but too bad I didn't managed to. *sob* *sob*

I went back home for dinner. After dinner, I went to the Spring again with my parent. My siblings decided not to go 'coz they wanted to watch Heroes. *sweat* My dad was lucky enough to get a parking at the basement. We went to MPH to look at some books (Christian books). Then, my mum and I went to elianto to buy some stuff. I bought new nail polish 'coz it was cheap. RM 5.50 for one. When we walked out of Elianto, I was attracted to the Body Glove shop so I persuaded my mum to go in with me. I managed to get a few stuff from there.

After that, we went in Parkson 'coz my dad wanted to buy some jeans. We went around and stopped at Bonia for men. We were looking at the jeans and guess who I saw? I saw Sze Fah (the flag bearer). He is part time promoter there. He was entertaining my dad while I was acting stupid. I called Joey to tell him that I saw Sze Fah.

Hahaha... We went up and down. My parents bought new wallet and bought my sis a new dress. I was lucky enough to get a RM10 Digi reload coupon from answering some question from the Parkson's DJ after Raymond. Waahahaha... We shopped till the Spring closes which was 11 p.m.

This week was quite a week for me. My leg is getting better ready.

I'm in 4sc1 which is in the lab. The lab is located at in the former music room in St. Nick. The good thing about being in St. Nick is near canteen but too bad its so far away from the toilet and audi. Haiz...

My books are like extra burden on the first day of school. All together are 18 books given by the school. I had to carry it all the way to my aunt'a office which is in St. Thomas Primary School opposite my school.

The second day of school, I studied History concerning the stone age, Maths on significant figures and also English on Sonnet 18 by William Shakespeare. My BM teacher gave me homework on meaning of certain word and also making a sentences not less than 6 words. For Moral Education, we did theme song for the newly formed 3K club.

Yesterday, I was involved with St. Joseph's St. John Ambulance General Meeting. I became the cameraman (Samuel said). *sweat* I also helped in writing the minute and giving commands during drill. Hahahaa...

After meeting, Joey and I went for lunch. I had porridge, pohpia and a cup of coke for lunch. Not really that fattening though. Hehehehe...

Afterthat, we went to the sunday market to buy BG and MJs' food and hay. We come across the furry hamsters that look like furball is they rolled themselves up. Really look alike and worst of all, it is the same species as MJ... We also saw this black hamster. Very hyperactive and it kept bitting the cage...

We also bought some food to eat in the car. I ate Lekor forgetting that it contain lots of oil. *sweat* Extra exercise again for the next couple of weeks.

As you all know that yesterday I fell down in school, I was having the worst day of my life. I wasn't able to walk like a normal human being but like a penguin.

I was complaining the whole night to my honey bunny and he decided to take me to the hospital for check up.I wasn't thinking of going at first but uncle (Joey's dad) forced me to go so I went also in the end.

I went to KPJ with my honey bunny. I was under the consultation of Dr. Lee. He told me that my queen muscle were thorn. Freak out in the hospital.

Why must this happen to me? For 6 weeks, I will be like that. No sports for 6 weeks. No drill (except for command) for 6 weeks. Can't do a single thing for 6 weeks. How can I live like this? Feel like I'm a OKU... *sweat*

Due to that, I shall never ever don't use the stairs or anywhere drier anymore..

Blessed Christmas Night...

The ticket for the event... RM15 one... Don't play play ar...

The other Friday (21st Dec), I went for Blessed Church's Christmas night. Actually, I wasn't planning to go but my friend, Khian bought the ticket for Ah Hock, Joey and I after fasting for 3 days straight. So bo pien go lo since he bought the ticket.

The event was held in ACS. Joey picked me up from home and also pick up oe of his friend, Ah Hock. We reached there with weird 'security guards' that guide you to your parking space but we park outside ACS.

I went in the enterence and saw Jac and Lin Wei waiting for their friends at the enterence so went over and say hi.

Finally went in and quickly grab a chair to sit. I was sitting next to Joey who was next to Ah Khian who was next to Ah Hock. Everything was ok la. I was laughing at Ah Khian because the little kid took his pic with her sister's hp. I walked out and saw my uncle (mummy's cousin). Hehehehe...

After the whole event, we (Ah Hock, Ah Khian, Joey and me) went for our dinner at Hui Sing hawker stall. We laughed the whole night.

I'm sure some of you have been wondering where I was a week ago.. I was all the way in K.L. Hehe.. This time my honey bunny, Joey went with me. So this time is special la..

Hahaha.. I went Genting for 3 days and 2 nights.. Guess who I saw there.. I saw.. I saw Mrs. Sim and also Dianne.. Cool eh?? I ate a lot of sushi went I was in Genting.. During the night, I manage to went bowling with my honey bunny and John. Each game is RM8 and shoes for rent is RM3 so each of us had to pay RM11 for a game. We had coffee bean's ice blend.Joey and I in Genting.

On the second day, my honey bunny and I went to the theme park to play.. Manage to ride on everything there.. Hehehe.. That night I also went to play bowling but this time we played two games. We had coffee bean's ice blend again before going to sleep.

The third day, we were in a hurry to go down to K.L because.. We want to go SHOPPING.. My honey bunny was really freaking out in the cable car due to what happen to him the last time. We took a bus down to K.L Sentral before going to our hotel.

How to live a meaningful life...

The topic I'm going to write about was actually my impromtu title before the school holidays.

Everybody would want to live a meaningful life before they eventually past on to the next world. Don't you agree with me? Even me, myself would want to live a meaningful life. To live a meaningful life, there are a few things that I want to acomplish in living my meaningful life.

Firstly, I would like to be doctor, my dream job. I always dream of becoming a well-known doctor that would one day heal many people. I won't be surprised that if I work hard, I might be one of the well-known doctor in the world doing what all doctors do.

To live a meaningful life, I would like to eat lots and lots of my favourite food, chocolates or anything with chocolate. I've always wanted to try all types of chocolate and wished that one day I would try them. Can you imagine life without the food you like? Freaky eh?

Hmmm... Hmmm... I would also like to have my dream toilet. Hehehe... Surprised eh? I think most of the toilet I've been to are DIRTY...So I would like to have my dream toilet with lots of Winnie the Pooh stuff in it. Hahahaha....

Most important for me to live a meaningful life is to have a happy family. A happy family is what everyone wants. A happy family also affect the children's behaviours. Family is where you share joy and sadness with. They comfort you when you are sad and they laugh with you when you tell a lousy jokes (it's true).

Therefore, I want to live a meaningful life with all the things I wished for...

Recently, I went over to one of my friend's house. The first thing I saw was the dog with large ears but have small body called the chihuahua. I was curious so I went online and do some research on that particular dog. Here is what I found.

The Chihuahua is the smallest breed of dog in the world and is named after the state of Chihuahua in Mexico, where it was discovered in 1850. The American Kennel Club registered its first Chihuahua in 1905.

Chihuahuas are best known for their large eyes, their large, erect ears, and for being the smallest of all dog breeds. The AKC (American Kennel Club) recognizes two varieties of Chihuahua: the long-coat and the smooth-coat.

In the chihuahua there are two types of hair, long-haired and short-haired, also referred to as smooth coat. They are genetically the same breed, and are often present in the same litter, though in many kennel clubs, including the AKC, they are judged in separate categories. The term smooth coat does not mean that the hair is necessarily smooth as the hair can range from having a velvet touch to a whiskery feeling. Long-haired chihuahuas are actually smoother to the touch having a very soft, fine gaurd hairs and a downy undercoat, which gives them their fluffy appearance. Unlike many 'long haired' breeds long-haired chihuahuas require no trimming and minimal grooming. Contrary to popular belief they also typically shed less than their short-haired counterparts. In long-haired chihuahuas it may take up to two or more years before a full long hair coat develops.

Breed standards for this dog do not generally specify a height, only a weight and a description of their overall proportions. As a result, height varies more than within many other breeds. Generally, the height ranges between 6 and 10 inches (15 to 25 cm) at the withers. However, some dogs grow as tall as 12 to 15 inches (30 to 38 cm). AKC show dogs (American standard) must weigh no more than 6.0 lb (2.7 kg). The Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) standard calls for dogs ideally between 1.5 and 3.0 kg (3.3 to 6.6 lb), although smaller ones are acceptable in the show ring. However, pet-quality Chihuahuas (that is, those bred or purchased as companions rather than show dogs) can, and do, range above these weights, to 10 pounds (4.5 kg), or even more if they have large bone structures or are allowed to become overweight. This does not mean, however, that they are not purebred Chihuahuas, it only means that they do not meet the requirements to enter a conformation show. Oversize Chihuahuas are seen in some of the best, and worst, bloodlines.

The AKC Chihuahua standard] lists under color: "Any color-Solid, marked or splashed". This allows for all colors from solid blacks to solid whites, spotted, or a variety of other colors and patterns. A few examples are Fawn, Red, Cream, Chocolate, Blue, and Black.
Patterns, all with or without white markings, include:
- Sable
- Irish spotting
- Piebald spotting
- Extreme white spotting
- Brindle
- Masks
- Merle
- Tan points

Classifying Chihuahua colors can be complicated due to the large number of possibilities. Examples would be a Blue Brindle or a Chocolate and Tan. Colors and patterns can combine and affect each other, resulting in a very high degree of variation. That said, the classic Chihuahua color remains Fawn. No color or pattern is considered more valuable than the others. Although blue is considered rare, it is all just a matter of personal preference.

Although such terms as "teacup," "pocket size," "tiny toy," "miniature," and "standard" have been used to describe different-sized Chihuahuas, the Chihuahua Club of America issued a statement stressing that these descriptions are misleading. Their statement reads:
"Unfortunately, the additional adjectives used to describe the size differences and physical appearances are many and have been misused for so long they now seem legitimate. Teacup, Pocket Size, Tiny Toy, Miniature or Standard - are just a few of the many tags and labels that have been attached to this breed over the years. The Chihuahua Club of America is concerned that these terms may be used to entice prospective buyers into thinking that puppies described in this way are of greater monetary value. They are not and the use of these terms is incorrect and misleading."

As such, the Chihuahua Club of America and the American Kennel Club only recognizes two types of Chihuahuas - the Long-haired and the Short-haired Chihuahua. Please refer to Chihuahua Club of America Teacup Statement to read the entire release.

Chihuahuas are prized for their devotion, ferocity and personality. Their curious nature and small size make them easily adaptable to a variety of environments, including the city and small apartments. Chihuahuas are often stereotyped as high-strung, though it has been shown that correct training and socialization can result in an outstanding companion animal.
Chihuahuas are not well-suited as small children's pets because of their size, temperament and tendency to bite when frightened. It is recommended that children be school aged or older before adding a Chihuahua to one's home. Also, many Chihuahuas focus their devotion on one person, becoming overly jealous of that person's human relationships. This can be mitigated through socialization. Chihuahuas also tend to have a "clannish" nature, often preferring the companionship of other Chihuahuas over other dogs. Chihuahuas seem to have no concept of their own size and may fearlessly confront larger animals, which can result in injury.

This breed requires expert veterinary attention in areas such as birthing and dental care. Chihuahuas are also prone to some genetic anomalies, often neurological ones, such as epilepsy and seizure disorders.

Chihuahuas, and other toy breeds, are also prone to the sometimes painful disease Hydrocephalus. It is often diagnosed by the puppy having an abnormally large head during the first several months of life, but other symptoms are more noticeable (since "a large head" is such a broad description). Chihuahua puppies exhibiting Hydrocephalus usually have patchy skull platelets rather than a solid bone, and typically are lethargic and do not grow at the same pace as their siblings. A true case of Hydrocephalus can be diagnosed by a veterinarian, though the prognosis is grim.

Chihuahuas are also known for their moleras, a soft spot in their skulls. Chihuahuas are the only breed of dog to be born with an incomplete skull. The molera does fill in with age, but great care needs to be taken during the first six months until the skull is fully formed. Many veterinarians are not familiar with Chihuahuas as a breed, and mistakenly confuse a molera with hydrocephalus. The Chihuahua Club of America has issued a statement regarding this often deadly misdiagnosis.

Chihuahuas can also be at risk for hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar. Left unattended, hypoglycemia can lead to coma. Chihuahuas are also prone to eye infections due to their large, round, protruding eyes and their relatively low ground clearance. Chihuahuas also have a tendency to tremble but this is not a health issue, rather it takes place when the dog is stressed or excited. One reason for this may be because small dogs have a higher metabolism than larger dogs and therefore dissipate heat faster. Although figures often vary, as with any breed, the average lifespan for a Chihuahua is approximately 8 to 18 years of age.
Chihuahuas are sometimes picky eaters, and care must be taken to provide them with adequate nutrition. At the same time, care must be exercised not to overfeed this tiny breed. Overweight Chihuahuas are prone to joint injuries, tracheal collapse, chronic bronchitis, and shortened life span.

Because Chihuahuas are such a popular breed, there have been clubs created for them. These clubs talk about the breed, host competitions, etc. Sometimes they have information on adoption for members. A couple of clubs are ones such as the Chihuahua Club of America, (CCA) or the British Chihuahua Club, the latter formed in 1947. Also, online forums have been made about these dogs.

In conclusion, if you want to have a fun-loving pet, try getting yourself a chihuahua. It's small and hyperactive.

Here are some facts about chocolate...

Chocolate (pronounced /ˈtʃɒklət) comprises a number of raw and processed foods that are produced from the seed of the tropical cacao tree. Native to lowland tropical South America, cacao has been cultivated for three millennia in Central America and Mexico, with its earliest documented use around 1100 BC. All of the Mesoamerican peoples made chocolate beverages, including the Maya and Aztecs, who made it into a beverage known as xocolātl, a Nahuatl word meaning "bitter water". The seeds of the cacao tree have an intense bitter taste, and must be fermented to develop the flavor. After being roasted and ground, the resulting products are known as chocolate or cocoa.

Much of the chocolate consumed today is made into bars that combine cocoa solids fats like cocoa butter and sugar. Chocolate has become one of the most popular flavours in the world. Gifts of foil-wrapped chocolate molded into different shapes have become traditional on certain holidays: chocolate bunnies and eggs are popular on Easter, coins on Hanukkah, Santa Claus and other holiday symbols on Christmas, and hearts on Valentine's Day. Chocolate is also used in cold and hot beverages, to produce chocolate milk and cocoa.
Chocolate contains alkaloids such as theobromine and phenethylamine, which have physiological effects on the body. It has been linked to serotonin levels in the brain. Scientists claim that chocolate, eaten in moderation, can lower blood pressure. The presence of theobromine renders it toxic to some animals.

The word "chocolate" comes from the Aztecs of Mexico, and is derived from the Nahuatl word xocolatl (pronounced [ʃoˈkolaːtɬ]), which is a combination of the words, xocolli, meaning "bitter", and atl, which is "water". The Aztecs associated chocolate with Xochiquetzal, the goddess of fertility. Chocolate is also associated with the Mayan god of fertility. Mexican philologist Ignacio Davila Garibi, proposed that "Spaniards had coined the word by taking the Maya word chocol and then replacing the Maya term for water, haa, with the Aztec one, atl."However, it is more likely that the Aztecs themselves coined the term, having long adopted into Nahuatl the Mayan word for the "cacao" bean; the Spanish had little contact with the Mayans before Cortés's early reports to the Spanish King of the beverage known as xocolatl. However, professor Michael D. Coe, coauthor of the book The True History of Chocolate, argues that the word xocolatl appears in "no truly early source on the Nahuatl language or on Aztec culture."Chocolate has been used solely as a drink for nearly all of its history. The earliest record of using chocolate pre-dates the Mayans. Chocolate residue has been found in pottery dating to 1100 BC from Honduras, and 600-400 BC from Belize. The chocolate residue found in an early classic ancient Maya pot in Río Azul, northern Guatemala, suggests that Mayans were drinking chocolate around 400 A.D.

In the New World, chocolate was consumed in a bitter, spicy drink called xocoatl, and was often flavored with vanilla, chile pepper, and achiote (known today as annatto). Xocoatl was believed to fight fatigue, a belief that is probably attributable to the theobromine content. Other chocolate drinks combined it with such edibles as maize starch paste (which acts as an emulsifier and thickener), various fruits, and honey. In 1689 noted physician and collector Hans Sloane, developed a milk chocolate drink in Jamaica which was initially used by apothecaries, but later sold by the Cadbury brothers. Chocolate was also an important luxury good throughout pre-Columbian Mesoamerica, and cacao beans were often used as currency. For example, the Aztecs used a system in which one turkey cost one hundred cacao beans and one avocado was worth three beans.

The three main varieties of cacao beans used in chocolate are Criollo, Forastero and Trinitario.

Criollo is the rarest and most expensive cocoa on the market and is native to Central America, the Caribbean islands and the northern tier of South American states. There is some dispute about the genetic purity of cocoas sold today as Criollo, because most populations have been exposed to the genetic influence of other varieties. Criollos are particularly difficult to grow, as they are vulnerable to a variety of environmental threats and produce low yields of cocoa per tree. The flavour of Criollo is unique. It is described as delicate yet complex, low in classic chocolate flavour, but rich in "secondary" notes of long duration.

Forastero is a large group of wild and cultivated cacaos, most likely native to the Amazon basin. The African cocoa crop is entirely of the Forastero variety. They are significantly hardier and of higher yield than Criollo. Forastero cocoas are typically strong in classic "chocolate" flavour, but have a short duration and are unsupported by secondary flavours. There are exceptional Forasteros, such as the "Nacional" or the "Arriba" varieties, which can be very complex flavors.

Trinitario is a natural hybrid of Criollo and Forastero. Trinitario originated in Trinidad (hence the name) after an introduction of (Amelonado) Forastero to the local Criollo crop. These cocoas encompass a wide range of flavour profiles according to the genetic heritage of each tree.

Nearly all cacao produced over the past five decades is of the Forastero or lower-grade Trinitario varieties. The share of higher quality Criollos and Trinitarios (so-called flavour cacao) is just under 5% per annum.Cacao trees are difficult to grow and cultivate as they will only grow twenty degrees north and twenty degrees south of the equator. The temperature for cacao trees cannot drop below sixty degrees Fahrenheit without damaging the tree.

Harvesting cacao beans is a delicate process. First, the pods, containing cacao beans, are harvested. The beans, together with their surrounding pulp, are removed from the pod and placed in piles or bins to ferment for three to seven days. The fermentation process is what gives the beans their familiar chocolate taste. The beans must then be quickly dried to prevent mold growth; weather permitting, this is done by spreading the beans out in the sun.

The dried beans are transported from the plantation where they were grown to a chocolate manufacturing facility.
The beans are then cleaned (removing twigs, stones, and other debris), roasted, and graded. Next the shells are removed to extract the nib. Finally, the nibs are ground which releases and melts the cocoa butter producing chocolate liquor.

There are three things that can be done with the chocolate liquor at this point:
- It can be solidified and sold as unsweetened baking chocolate.
- Cocoa butter can be removed from it and the result is cocoa powder. There are several mechanisms for removing cocoa butter from chocolate liquor. These include using hydraulic pressure and the Broma process.
- Cocoa butter can be added to it to make eating chocolate.

Chocolate liquor is blended with the cocoa butter in varying quantities to make different types of chocolate or couvertures. The basic blends of ingredients for the various types of chocolate (in order of highest quantity of cocoa liquor first), are as follows:
Dark chocolate: sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa liquor, and (sometimes) vanilla
Milk chocolate: sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa liquor, milk or milk powder, and vanilla
White chocolate: sugar, cocoa butter, milk or milk powder, and vanilla
Usually, an emulsifying agent such as soya lecithin is added, though a few manufacturers prefer to exclude this ingredient for purity reasons and to remain GMO-free (Soya is a heavily genetically modified crop), sometimes at the cost of a perfectly smooth texture. Some manufacturers are now using PGPR, an artificial emulsifier derived from castor oil that allows them to reduce the amount of cocoa butter while maintaining the same mouthfeel.
The texture is also heavily influenced by processing, specifically conching. The more expensive chocolates tend to be processed longer and thus have a smoother texture and "feel" on the tongue, regardless of whether emulsifying agents are added.
Different manufacturers develop their own "signature" blends based on the above formulas but varying proportions of the different constituents are used.

The finest plain dark chocolate couvertures contain at least 70% cocoa (solids + butter), whereas milk chocolate usually contains up to 50%. High-quality white chocolate couvertures contain only about 33% cocoa. Some mass-produced chocolate contains much less cocoa (as low as 7% in many cases) and fats other than cocoa butter. Some chocolate makers say that these "chocolate" products should not be classed as couvertures, or even as chocolate, because of the low or virtually non-existent cocoa content. In 2007, the Chocolate Manufacturers Association in the United States, whose members include Hershey, Nestlé, and Archer Daniels Midland, lobbied the Food and Drug Administration to change the legal definition of chocolate to let them substitute partially hydrogenated vegetable oils for cocoa butter in addition to using artificial sweeteners and milk substitutes. Currently, the FDA does not allow a product to be referred to as "chocolate" if the product contains any of these ingredients

The penultimate process is called conching. A conche is a container filled with metal beads, which act as grinders. The refined and blended chocolate mass is kept liquid by frictional heat. The conching process produces cocoa and sugar particles smaller than the tongue can detect, hence the smooth feel in the mouth. The length of the conching process determines the final smoothness and quality of the chocolate. High-quality chocolate is conched for about 72 hours, lesser grades about four to six hours. After the process is complete, the chocolate mass is stored in tanks heated to approximately 45–50 °C (113–122 °F) until final processing.

The final process is called tempering. Uncontrolled crystallization of cocoa butter typically results in crystals of varying size, some or all large enough to be clearly seen with the naked eye. This causes the surface of the chocolate to appear mottled and matte, and causes the chocolate to crumble rather than snap when broken. The uniform sheen and crisp bite of properly processed chocolate are the result of consistently small cocoa butter crystals produced by the tempering process.
The fats in cocoa butter can crystallize in six different forms (polymorphous crystallization). The primary purpose of tempering is to assure that only the best form is present. The six different crystal forms have different properties.

Making good chocolate is about forming the most of the type V crystals. This provides the best appearance and mouth feel and creates the most stable crystals so the texture and appearance will not degrade over time. To accomplish this, the temperature is carefully manipulated during the crystallization.
Generally, the chocolate is first heated to 45 °C (113 °F) to melt all six forms of crystals. Then the chocolate is cooled to about 27 °C (80 °F), which will allow crystal types IV and V to form (VI takes too long to form). At this temperature, the chocolate is agitated to create many small crystal "seeds" which will serve as nuclei to create small crystals in the chocolate. The chocolate is then heated to about 31 °C (88 °F) to eliminate any type IV crystals, leaving just the type V. After this point, any excessive heating of the chocolate will destroy the temper and this process will have to be repeated. However, there are other methods of chocolate tempering used-- the most common variant is introducing already tempered, solid "seed" chocolate. The temper of chocolate can be measured with a chocolate temper meter to ensure accuracy and consistency. A sample cup is filled with the chocolate and placed in the unit which then displays or prints the results.
Two classic ways of manually tempering chocolate are:
Working the molten chocolate on a heat-absorbing surface, such as a stone slab, until thickening indicates the presence of sufficient crystal "seeds"; the chocolate is then gently warmed to working temperature.
Stirring solid chocolate into molten chocolate to "inoculate" the liquid chocolate with crystals (this method uses the already formed crystal of the solid chocolate to "seed" the molten chocolate).
Chocolate tempering machines (or temperers) with computer controls can be used for producing consistently tempered chocolate, particularly for large volume applications.

However, there are some physiological effects on the consumer. For example, the pleasure of consuming it.Part of the pleasure of eating chocolate is due to the fact that its melting point is slightly below human body temperature: it melts in the mouth. Chocolate intake has been linked with release of serotonin in the brain, which produces feelings of pleasure. A study reported by the BBC indicated that melting chocolate in one's mouth produced an increase in brain activity and heart rate that was more intense than that associated with passionate kissing, and also lasted four times as long after the activity had ended. Research has shown that heroin addicts tend to have an increased liking for chocolate; this may be because it triggers dopamine release in the brain's reinforcement systems — an effect, albeit a legal one, similar to that of cocaine.

Recent studies have suggested that cocoa or dark chocolate may possess certain beneficial effects on human health. Dark chocolate, with its high cocoa content, is a rich source of the flavonoids epicatechin and gallic acid, which are thought to possess cardioprotective properties. Cocoa possesses a significant antioxidant action, protecting against LDL oxidation, perhaps more than other polyphenol antioxidant-rich foods and beverages. Processing cocoa with alkali destroys most of the flavonoids. Some studies have also observed a modest reduction in blood pressure and flow-mediated dilation after consuming approximately 100g of dark chocolate daily. There has even been a fad diet, named "Chocolate diet", that emphasizes eating chocolate and cocoa powder in capsules. However, consuming milk chocolate or white chocolate, or drinking fat-containing milk with dark chocolate, appears largely to negate the health benefit. Processed cocoa powder (so called Dutch chocolate), processed with alkali greatly reduces the antioxidant capacity as compared to "raw" cocoa powder. Chocolate is also a calorie-rich food with a high fat content, so daily intake of chocolate also requires reducing caloric intake of other foods.

Two-thirds of the fat in chocolate comes in the forms of a saturated fat called stearic acid and a monounsaturated fat called oleic acid. However, unlike other saturated fats, stearic acid does not raise levels of LDL cholesterol in the bloodstream. Consuming relatively large amounts of dark chocolate and cocoa does not seem to raise serum LDL cholesterol levels; some studies even find that it could lower them.

Several population studies have observed an increase in the risk of certain cancers among people who frequently consume sweet 'junk' foods such as chocolate. However, very little evidence exists to suggest whether consuming flavonoid-rich dark chocolate may increase or decrease the risk of cancer. Evidence from laboratory studies suggests that cocoa flavonoids may possess anticarcinogenic mechanisms, but more research is needed to prove this idea.
The major concern that nutritionists have is that even though eating dark chocolate may favorably affect certain biomarkers of cardiovascular disease, the amount needed to have this effect would provide a relatively large quantity of calories which, if unused, would promote weight gain. Obesity is a significant risk factor for many diseases, including cardiovascular disease. As a consequence, consuming large quantities of dark chocolate in an attempt to protect against cardiovascular disease has been described as 'cutting off one's nose to spite one's face'.

Studies suggest a specially formulated type of cocoa may boost brain function and delay decline as people age.Small but regular amounts of dark chocolate were shown to lower the possibility of heart attack.
Mars, Incorporated, a Virginia-based candy company, spends millions of dollars each year on flavonol research. The company is talking with pharmaceutical companies to license drugs based on synthesized cocoa flavonol molecules. According to Mars-funded researchers at Harvard, the University of California, and European universities, cocoa-based prescription drugs could potentially help treat diabetes, dementia and other diseases.Other research indicates that chocolate may be effective at preventing persistent coughing. The ingredient theobromine was found to be almost one third more effective than codeine, the leading cough medicine. The chocolate also appears to soothe and moisten the throat.

South American and European cultures have used cocoa to treat diarrhea for hundreds of years. A study done at Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland, in collaboration with scientists at Heinrich Heine University in Germany, has shown that flavonoids can inhibit the development of fluids that result in diarrhea.

Chocolate contains a variety of substances, some of which have an effect on body chemistry. These include:
- Sugar: Chocolate bars (as opposed to cocoa) contain large amounts of sugar.
- Theobromine: This is the primary alkaloid found in cocoa and chocolate, and is one of the causes for chocolate's mood-elevating effects. This mild stimulant belongs to the methylxanthine family, which also includes the similar compound caffeine, with which theobromine is frequently confused.
- Tryptophan: An essential amino acid that is a precursor to serotonin, an important neurotransmitter involved in regulating moods.
- Phenethylamine: An endogenous alkaloid and monoamine. Often described as a 'love chemical', it can cause endorphin releases in the brain. However, unlike its synthetic derivative amphetamine, it is quickly metabolized by the enzyme MAO-B, preventing significant concentrations from reaching the brain.
- Caffeine: This stimulant is present mainly in coffee and tea, but exists in chocolate in very small amounts. The amount of caffeine in chocolate is roughly 6 mg per ounce (about 30 g) of chocolate bar. Compare with 100–150 mg of caffeine in a cup of coffee.
Current research indicates that chocolate has a weak stimulant effect due mainly to its content of theobromine. However, chocolate contains too little of this compound for a reasonable serving to create effects in humans that are on par with a coffee buzz. Chocolate contains only small amounts of the compound caffeine. There are 5 to 10 milligrams of caffeine in one ounce of bittersweet chocolate, 5 milligrams in milk chocolate, and 10 milligrams in a 170 millilitre cup of cocoa. There are 100 to 150 milligrams of caffeine in a 220 millilitre cup of coffee; it would be necessary to eat more than a dozen chocolate bars to get the same amount of caffeine as one cup of coffee. The pharmacologist Ryan J. Huxtable has described chocolate as "more than a food but less than a drug". However, chocolate is a very potent stimulant for horses; its use is therefore banned in horse-racing. Romantic lore commonly identifies chocolate as an aphrodisiac. The reputed aphrodisiac qualities of chocolate are most often associated with the simple sensual pleasure of its consumption. More recently, suggestion has been made that serotonin and other chemicals found in chocolate, most notably phenethylamine, can act as mild sexual stimulants. While there is no firm proof that chocolate is indeed an aphrodisiac, giving a gift of chocolate to one's sweetheart is a familiar courtship ritual.

There is a popular belief that the consumption of chocolate can cause acne. Pure chocolate contains anti-oxidants which aid better skin complexion. The University of Pennsylvania and the US Naval Academy conducted experiments that fed subjects chocolate or a bar with similar amounts of macronutrients (fat, sugar etc.) and found that consumption of chocolate, frequent or not, had no effect on the developing of acne. Chocolate has one of the higher concentrations of lead among products that constitute a typical Westerner's diet. Recent studies have shown that although the beans themselves absorb little lead, it tends to bind to cocoa shells and contamination may occur during the manufacturing process. A recent peer-reviewed publication found significant amounts of lead in chocolate. A review article published in a peer-reviewed journal in 2006 states that despite high consumption levels of chocolate, there is a paucity of data on lead concentrations in chocolate products. In a USDA study in 2004, mean lead levels in the samples tested ranged from 0.0010 to 0.0965 µg lead per gram of chocolate, but another study by a Swiss research group in 2002 found that some chocolate contained up to 0.769 µg per gram, close to the international (voluntary) standard limit for lead in cocoa powder or beans, which is 1 µg of lead per gram. In 2006, the U.S. FDA lowered by one-fifth the amount of lead permissible in candy, but compliance is only voluntary. While studies show that the lead consumed in chocolate may not all be absorbed by the human body, there is no known threshold for the effects of lead on children's brain function and even small quantities of lead can cause permanent neurodevelopmental deficits including impaired IQ.

In sufficient amounts, the theobromine found in chocolate is toxic to animals such as horses, dogs, parrots, small rodents, and cats (kittens especially) because they are unable to metabolise the chemical effectively. If they are fed chocolate, the theobromine will remain in their bloodstream for up to 20 hours, and these animals may experience epileptic seizures, heart attacks, internal bleeding, and eventually death. Medical treatment involves inducing vomiting within two hours of ingestion, or contacting a veterinarian.

A typical 20-kilogram (40-lb) dog will normally experience great intestinal distress after eating less than 240 grams (8.5 oz) of dark chocolate, but will not necessarily experience bradycardia or tachycardia unless it eats at least a half a kilogram (1.1 lb) of milk chocolate. Dark chocolate has 2 to 5 times more theobromine and thus is more dangerous to dogs. According to the Merck Veterinary Manual, approximately 1.3 grams of baker's chocolate per kilogram of a dog's body weight (0.02 oz/lb) is sufficient to cause symptoms of toxicity. For example, a typical 25-gram (0.88 oz) baker's chocolate bar would be enough to bring about symptoms in a 20-kilogram (44 lb) dog. Of course, baking chocolate is rarely consumed directly due to its unpleasant taste, but other dark chocolates' canine toxicities may be extrapolated based on this figure. As dogs like the taste of chocolate products as much as humans do, and are capable of finding and eating quantities much larger than typical human servings, they should be kept out of their reach. Treats made from carob are a good substitute and pose no threat. There are reports that mulch made from cacao bean shells is dangerous to pets (and other animals).

Did you know that carob are used to make animal treat? The powdered seeds of the carob tree are used in some animal treats instead of chocolate due to the toxicity of real chocolate. Carob powder is also used as a sweetener. For those allergic to chocolate, carob powder or a solid chocolate substitute made from carob powder, sweetener and vegetable fat provides an alternative without the allergic side effects.

The percentage of people in the world (according to Nestle.com) that prefer dark, milk, and white chocolate, respectively, are 68%, 22%, and 10%.

Finally I managed to finish a chinese series called 'Smiling Pasta' during the whole week. On my opinion, this series is quite interesting. Especially the song sang by one of the actor, He Qun(Nicholas Teo) was the best.

The sipnosis for the movie are like below :
Xiao Shi is a girl who has gone through many short relationships, 17 to be exact, not one lasting more than three months hence, she was cursed with a three-month curse. After being dumped by her 17th boyfriend, the world looks grimmer than ever. At that time, a famous idol, He Qun runs past, bumps into Xiao Shi, and they end up "kissing" on the street. Paparazzi swarmed by and to avoid a bad reputation, He Qun's manager declared Xiao Shi as He Qun's girlfriend of one year and fiancée. Thus, a love contract was made.
